Why You Should Have The Ability To Limit Users In Your Group Chat

We are living in a world that’s run by the internet and social media. As a result, our primary means of communication is through chat rooms and messaging apps. This has become both an advantage and disadvantage. In this article, we will discuss how to limit users to ensure the safety of your website.

Why limit users?

  • First of all, when you have too many users in a chat room, it can be very busy and hectic. You cannot control all of the people coming in and out of the chat room.
  • Second, by not being able to control them, there might be harassers or bullies in the chat room.

How can you avoid this from happening?

We know nobody wants to tolerate bullying or harassment in a chatroom; therefore, we propose you do the following:

  1. You can appoint someone you trust to be an administrator of a chat room if you’re not always active.
  2. You can limit users per chat room.

How can you do the following through RumbleTalk?

RumbleTalk has users per room option so you can limit users going in and out of a chat room. To do this, you need to do the following.

In your admin panel, you will see the “Settings” button. Click that, and it will then drop down to an additional list of setting. Click on “Users” to proceed.

click users

After clicking on “Users,” you will now see the current registered users to your chat room. For the first prevention measure, you can appoint an administrator to a specific chat room or for global access.

Just click on “Add new user.” Select what the username should be and password. You could choose user role to be global or in a specific room only.

If you use rooms, however, then you will be prompted to choose what specific room he can only access.

Note that the administrator you choose should be a trusted person, one that will respect chat rules and implement it, and one that respects you.

For the second prevention measure, you could limit users per chat room. Just like the steps for the first one, here you will only choose user access to rooms only.

From there, you can choose which chat room(s) the user can access.

This can help you navigate who is creating a negative impact in your chat room if there is.

Here is an example of what the user access would look like when you’ve added users with global access and per room, and admin with global access and per room.

Conclusion

The users per room option, not only limits users but also protects the privacy and security of each user.

We at RumbleTalk do not tolerate any form of bullying or harassment. We know you would want that for your followers, too. To know more about the users per room feature, please click this.

Finally, A New Admin Panel For RumbleTalk Chat Platform

Is the old admin panel getting a little boring for you? Or maybe, its features are very cluttered and all over the place? Based on public demand, you won’t have to wait longer! Now, the new admin panel is finally here to cater to your needs!

What are the features in the new admin panel?

Of course, we won’t launch a new admin panel if there was no difference from the old one. Here is a list of what you can expect in the new admin panel:

  • A new chat type called “experts’ chat”
  • A new PayWall “paid access” feature
  • The menus are different and more logical (you’ll see them in a bit)
  • An option to duplicate a chat (design only or with the settings)
  • The overview is per chat

A new chat type called “experts’ chat”

Now, you can access a one-on-one private chat called “experts’ chat.” The experts’ chat caters to professionals, who want to have private discussions with their clients. To access the experts’ chat, all you need is to click on “Settings” button, and then it will drop down to a list of settings. Click again on “Settings.”

You will then see “Chat Type.” Choose “Expert’s Chat.”

Now, your chat will be private and you can use it to get paid for your professional services. Click on the previous link to know more about the new chat type.

A new PayWall “paid access” feature

PayWall means having users pay for entrance or sending private messages in your RumbleTalk chat room. You can add it to both chat types, group chat or expert’s chat. Just click on “PayWall.”

Then, you can configure your settings at “Monetize Settings.”

It’s easy as that!

The menus are different and more logical

Compared to the old admin panel, the new admin panel is neater and easier on the eyes. From the old boxed one to a cleaner white overview, the new admin panel is easier to navigate. Here are examples of the old admin panel and the new admin panel:

The difference is very visible, right? We made it that way so you, our users, will not be distracted from everything on one page.

An option to duplicate a chat

In the new admin panel, if you want to create a new chat room, you can duplicate the following:

  1. Design of current chat room
  2. Settings of the current chat room

For duplicating the design of your current chat room, all you need to do is click on the button as follows:

duplicate chat

From there, a pop-up screen will show and you can choose a name for your chat.

Then, by clicking on “Advanced options,” you will see the things you want to duplicate, from the general settings to monetization.

This lessens the hassle of setting up a whole new chat room again if you just want the same features for your new one.

The overview is per chat

From the old admin panel, which cluttered every chat room into one page, the new admin panel lets you see the overview of each chat.

New Feature: PayWall – Let Users Pay for Entering the Chat

THIS FEATURE HAS BEEN REMOVED

We are super excited to share with you our latest development: PayWall. Many of our users have been asking for this feature. Hence, we are happy to announce that it is now ready for use!

PayWall means you can charge users for entering your RumbleTalk chat room or sending private messages if you wish. In this post, we’ll show you how it works.

Payment Options

Payments can be made quickly and easily via PayPal. In addition, there are two ways you can set it up:

  1. Users make a one-time payment to enter the chat for a limited time (minutes, hours, days, weeks).
  2. Users pay a subscription fee for entering the chat however many times they like on a monthly basis or an annual basis.
  3. Coming soon – Pay for having a private chat.

How PayWall Works in the Chat

Here are step-by-step instructions as to how it works for users:

Step 1 – Register

First of all, users are asked to fill out minimal details to register for using your chat room:

RumbleTalk PayWall FAQ

What Is RumbleTalk PayWall?

RumbleTalk PayWall allows you to charge your users a fee for various actions in the chat room. Currently, we support PayWall for chat login and PayWall for sending private messages soon. If you wish, you can choose not to use PayWall at all, such that your chat remains free for all users.

In addition, RumbleTalk PayWall allows chat owners to put a price tag on action within a community chat. The platform allows users to chat, private chat, and video chat with others (or with the admin) in the comfort of their own home.

RumbleTalk’s mission is to help connect, inspire, and empower communities by bringing conversation and payment to the digital age due to today’s fast-paced lifestyle.

How Do Users Pay for a RumbleTalk Session?

Users can pay for entering the chat via PayPal. A chat owner will set the price and duration (a one-time login authorized for one week for example, or a subscription fee, which allows unlimited access during a given month). A user will be asked to pay before he or she can log in to the chat. The steps for doing so can be found in the “How PayWall Works in the Chat” section of the blog above.

Chat Owners

How Do I Get Paid?

Once you reach the payment release level (i.e. $50), the payment will be sent directly to your PayPal account. If you don’t reach the minimum level within a calendar year, the funds will be released to your account at the end of a calendar year nonetheless.

Can I Set Any Price per Session?

For first-time users, you can charge $5 per login. Once you get to $50 total payments, your limit will increase to $20 per login. As a result, we allow any amount of payment below $1000 at the beta stage.

Can I Transfer the Money to My Bank Account?

For this, not yet. At this stage, we are only set up to send payments to PayPal accounts.
