New Feature: Collect Donation Directly in Your Group Chat

Hello there! Group donation is a new feature and we’re glad to share it with you. You can think of it as an online donations option.

So, you have a website and you have a community that comes regularly to visit your site. Why not try collecting donations for a good cause or raise funds for a project and all that directly on your website?

What is a group donation?

Group donation is basically the ability to collect funds for a good cause. Now you can add a donation button to your community chat.

Donations are given from the hart, so the person that wishes to donate can decide on the donation amount, ranging from $2, $5, $20, or more!

How does it work?

The group donation feature is very easy to set up. We’ve got you covered! Just follow these steps and you’re ready to go. Grab your pen and paper (or maybe just your phone/laptop) and let’s start!

  • The first thing you need to do is activate the donation feature ! To do it, login to your RumbleTalk admin panel, you will see the “Monetize” menu, click on that, and click again on “Monetize Settings.”
  • If this is your first time with setting your payment options, you will need to choose the currency you wish to collect payments with. We support 4 currencies at this stage USD, EUR, GBP, ILS.

Also, add your PayPal email account where you want us to send you the collected donations. At this stage, we only transfer funds to PayPal (we transfer 90% of the collected funds every 1st and 15th in a month).

  • Now back to the monetize settings – Scroll down a bit and you’ll see the “Donations” option. Check the box, agree to the terms, and save your changes. That’s the first step done!

  • Now, you will see the donate button in your chat room. Users will now be able to donate the amount they want and also add a custom message to every donation like “well done !!!”. This message will show in the group chat.

New Feature: Delete Messages in a Private Chat

Mistakes sometimes happen, especially when sending out messages. Fortunately, chatters can now delete messages they send in the private chat window.

Whether you sent a message to the wrong person or misspelled a word, you can now delete traces of that mistake.

What is a private chat?

The private chat allows you to send text messages to a person in the chat. One can also send audio and video messages. You can also have audio or video live calls, send pics and even documents, excel and other types of files. The contents of these conversations are hidden to other users to keep the information you share with the other party private.

How to delete messages

  1. To delete a message, you need to open the private chat by clicking on another user first.
  2. Next, hover over the message you want to delete.
  3. You will see the trash bin icon. Click it to proceed.delete messages
  4. The message will be instantly deleted from the private chat.

Things to note:

  • Deleted messages are permanent.
  • Deleting in bulk is currently not possible. Admins and members can only delete one message at a time.
  • You can only delete messages sent out by you. If someone sends a message or a picture you don’t like, you still can’t delete it from your side of the conversation (you can click the Ignore button if you like to skip this person messages).

How will the deleted messages appear?

For the deleted messages, they will just be shown with no trace, as if you’ve never sent a message at all. Just pray that the other party hasn’t seen your message yet or your effort will just be wasted!

How to report a deleted message that was abusive

In RumbleTalk, we do not tolerate any form of bullying or harassment. If you do happen to see an abusive message before it was deleted, you can do the following.

  • As the admin, you can disconnect and ban the IP of any user from the chat. If users were harassed, they can turn to you and you can disconnect the user who sent the hate messages.ban and disconnect
  • For admins and users alike, one can choose to ignore any message from a troll or cyberbully.ignore
  • To know more about banning users, you can check out the knowledge base.
