Can you change your user status in a chat?

The User Status feature in a chat room lets users communicate their availability to others in the chat room. It typically includes three main options:

  1. Online – Indicates that the user is active and available for real-time messaging. This status signals that the user is ready to engage in a conversation or respond quickly.
  2. Busy – This shows that the user is currently occupied and may not respond immediately. It’s a way to let others know that the user might be focusing on other tasks and prefers minimal interruptions.
  3. Away – Tells others that the user is temporarily unavailable or away from their device. This status suggests that responses may be delayed until the user returns.

By updating their status, users can manage expectations and improve communication in the chat room, making it easier for others to know when they are likely to get a prompt reply
